Edward Michael Popp, 74, of St. Petersburg, passed away on 19 May 2016 in Pinellas Park, Florida. Private funeral services will be held on 24 May 2016 at Anderson McQueen Funeral home at 1300 with Monsignor Gibbons of St Pauls Church, St Petersburg, officiating. Full military honors burial will follow at St Johns Cemetery of Queens New York on 27 May 2016. Edward Michael Popp was born in Brooklyn, New York to Joseph A. Popp and Anna H. Hochstetter on 15 September 1941. He graduated from Delechanty high school in Jamica, New York and entered the military upon graduation. He married Elizabeth Smith on 23 April 1993 in St Petersburg, Florida. He worked as a senior food service manager for Publix for 15 years. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and served honorably in the Army as a Food Service Specialist. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with One Service Star, Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross Unit Citation. He was involved and supported St Paul's Church in St Petersburg. Edward Popp is preceded in death by his parents Joseph A. Popp and Anna H. Hochstetter and his siblings Mary Berger and Joseph Popp. Edward Popp is survived by his wife Elizabeth Popp, his daughter Martina Cote and spouse Joseph Cote, step son Eben Smith and step daughter Jillian Smith, sister Katherine Nolan, grandsons Douglas Edward and Stephen Joseph Cote; stepgrandson, Elijiah Smith, and greatgrandson Khy Cote. The family of Edward Popp wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Suncoast Hospice and their caring staff.
