Edward Alan Walsh
January 2, 1980 - June 29, 2024
Eddy passed away with loved ones by his side, after fighting Cancer for 2 1/2 years.
Eddy lived all 44 years of his life in Ione. You may have known him from Golden 1 Ione, where he worked for 20 years or from his time at Blockbuster, where he would MC trivia games on Friday and Saturday nights. Eddy may have even been the videographer at your wedding or graduation. He also partnered with Andrea Bonham to document The History of Ione. Eddy was a huge Trekkie which gave him a desire to learn about other countries, their cultures, food and music. He was known to blare his favorite African singers while driving around town a time or two.
Eddy had the ability to put others at ease and make them feel like he cared. To those that knew him, he was a light of love and kindness and will be missed terribly. He was considered a friend to many and an enemy to none.
Eddy was preceded in death by his father Charles, Sister Sheila and Grandmother Joanne Mullally.
He is survived by his Mother Middy, Sister Bridgette [Jessie,] Brother Eugene, Nephew Brandon, Nieces Malorie and Nicolette, Grandfather Charles Mullally, his best friend Irene, as well as a long list of Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins.
The family would like to thank neighbors, friends and the Amador/Calaveras Hospice team who helped in his care. We will forever be grateful.
Mass and graveside service followed by refreshments, will be at The Sacred Heart Church and Hall in Ione CA on August 2, 2024, at 11 am. The family asks you to wear your favorite bright color as Eddy would want none of us to be sad, but to celebrate him instead.
