Edwien William Wiedeman, 79, of Greeley CO died July 2, 2010 at Grace Pointe Continuing Care in Greeley. Edwien was born on May 31, 1931 in Windsor, CO to William and Lydia (Felte) Wiedeman. He married Nancy Schaefer, from Windsor, CO, on December 29, 1951. The couple started their own farm and cattle feeding operation and after two years got into the dairy business. Ed received many honors including numerous top DHIA milk production awards. He served on the board for Dairy Herd Improvement Association and the Holstein Freisian Association. He was a two term President for the Colorado Holstein Association. Mr. Wiedeman was a voting delegate for the Mountain Empire Dairymen Association and National Milk Federation for many years and also served as a board member for the Western Dairyman Cooperative Inc. Ed was a founding board member for Dairy Farmers of America for which he served several years before retiring. After living on the dairy farm for 49 years he retired and moved to town. He and his wife, Nancy, were married for 58 years. Ed was a member of St. Johns United Church of Christ where he served on the church board and as a trustee. He is survived by his wife Nancy of Greeley; son, Gary Wiedeman and special friend Nancy Jo Norman of Greeley; daughter, Sandy Trefz of Littleton, CO; and two grandchildren, Jennifer Trefz of Aurora, CO and Daniel Trefz of Wheat Ridge CO. He is also survived by his sister Elsie Schoenhaar of Greeley; and two brothers, Harry Wiedeman of Greeley and Don Wiedeman of Johnstown, CO. He was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at Adamson Chapel. Funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 7, 2010 at St. John’s United Church of Christ, 3815 West 20th Street, Greeley. Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to "Mountain Valley Hospice” and/or "St. Johns United Church of Christ” in care of Adamson Funeral & Cremation Services, 2000 47th Avenue, Greeley, CO 80634.
