Edwin Lewis Brown

Edwin L. Brown December 5, 1933 �" July 25, 2008 Tribute: Edwin Lewis Brown was born in Zearing, Iowa to William H. and Lucille (McKibben) Brown. He grew up in Zearing and graduated from Lincoln Township Consolidated School in 1951. Mr. Brown worked with his father at the bank after high school before entering the U.S. Navy. He served during the Korean War working on a tanker as a store clerk and petty officer. Mr. Brown served in the Navy for four years before being honorably discharged. On August 2, 1958 he married Louise M. Bryan in Zearing and has been married for 49 years. In 1961, Mr. Brown graduated from South Dakota State University with a degree in Agricultural Economics. In 1962, the Brown's moved to Windsor, Co where Mr. Brown worked in the banking industry in Windsor and Chugwater, Wyoming for the next 30 years. Prior to retirement he was employed by Safeway. Mr. Brown enjoyed fishing, camping, dining out, helping his children with projects, and his grandchildren. Mr. Brown was formerly a member of the Lions Club, Masonic Lodge, Jaycee’s, a Boy Scout leader, and served on the Board of Education in Windsor. He also was a member of First Christian Church of Windsor and was an Elder and Moderator of the church. Mr. Brown died Friday, July 25, 2008 at North Colorado Medical Center Hospice and Palliative Care in Greeley. Survivors: His wife, Louise of Windsor; children, Jeff Brown and wife Shari of Wheatland, WY, Kristin Brown of Tacoma, WA, and Doug Brown and wife Jennifer of Johnstown, CO; grandchildren, Hannah and Joeseph Brendemihl, and Jamison and Gage Brown. He is also survived by brother, William E. Brown of Urbandale, IA; and nieces and nephews. Proceeded in death by: His parents, William H. and Lucille Brown; and sister, Shirley Wickham. Memorial Service: 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 29, 2008 at First Christian Church in Windsor.
