Edwin Hugh Crawford

Ed Crawford, 54, passed away February 23, 2020 in a fire at his home in Des Moines, Washington. Born Edwin Hugh Crawford on May 18, 1965 in Seattle, he graduated from Meadowdale High School in 1983. He joined the Army that same year, trained as a medic in the 82nd Airborne Division, and served overseas until 1987. He took great pride in his career as a skilled finish carpenter, but his first love was fishing. He spent many happy hours at the Meadowdale Marina in Edmonds, the Des Moines Pier and Ruston Pier. His other first love was rock music. He played bass guitar and sang for his band, Vicious Circle, and his bandmates were lifelong friends. Ed is survived by his son, his pride and joy, Nikolas Alexander Akimov, and by his brother Sherman Crawford, sister Susan Berry, sister Bobbi Giammona, parents Patrick and Donna Crawford and nephews Ruben Berry, Nicolas Giammona, Carter Berry and Luke Giammona. An incorrigible prankster, his sense of humor and quick wit will be greatly missed. His life will be celebrated at a graveside service at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 15, 2021 at Restlawn Cemetery in Edmonds, WA. Please share memories at www.beckstributecenter.com.
