Elaine Staake Daleske

Born in Tacoma, WA on May 20, 1925. She graduated from Stadium High School in 1941, then attended the University of Washington, joining Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority enjoying close friendship with many sorority sisters throughout her life. After college, she worked for several radio stations in Tacoma and Seattle, as well as Advertising agencies in New York and San Francisco. Later years, she enjoyed part time work at Nordstrom and selling Real Estate. Elaine spent many happy hours on a tennis court during vacations and at home at the former Gallery and currently Harbor Square Tennis Clubs. Together with husband Bob, they enjoyed many trips and cruises. She was a long-time member of Our Lady of The Lake Catholic Church, where she was active in the Mothers Club and Alter Society. After moving from Wedgwood to Edmonds, Elaine became a parishioner of Holy Rosary Church. Preceded in death by parents, Jack Shepard and Terese Gardner; sister, Bette Elsbree and infant daughter Mary Kathleen Staake. Survived by husband, Robert Daleske; son, Craig Staake (Barbara); daughters, Karen Miller (Bob) and Lynn Staake; step-daughter, Dianne Daleske and Catherine Peay. Much loved granddaughters: Emma Staake, Sarah (Chris) Calvert, Megan and Emily Miller; who all made her very proud of their accomplishments.
