Elaine Geraldine Sanchez, age 58, was welcomed into the gates of Heaven on Monday, August 10, 2020. She resided in Espanola. She was preceded in death by her parents Willie and Mary Sanchez; 2 nieces, Amanda Sanchez and Victoria Vialpondo; 3 nephews, Jerry Torres, Baby Paul Torres, and Justin Sanchez; 1 sister in law, Amy Rodriquez. She was survived by her sons Eli Sanchez, Derrick Sanchez (Lori), and Aaron (Daisy) Sanchez. Grandchildren; Jacob Roybal Sanchez, Shanae Sanchez, Jadah Moncada Sanchez, Dominic Montoya Sanchez, and Cataleya Sanchez. Sisters; Prescilla Barclay, Dolly (Paul) Torres, and Rhoda Sanchez. Brothers; Larry (Rose) Vialpondo, Ivan Gary (Jackie) Sanchez, and Leonard (Eluvina) Sanchez. She had many special nieces and nephews. Very close friends Joseph Fresquez and Ted Archuleta and numerous friends and family. Elaine graduated from Espanola Valley High School. She was athletic. She was in cheerleading and track. Elaine was extremely popular through her high school years. She loved to go out to the dances and loved to hear her brother Leonard sing. She was a lifeguard at Lucero Center in her early 20s. Elaine loved to go to the casino any chance she would get, especially to play her bonus play. She was always with a smile on her face no matter where you would see her. She currently was a caretaker through Options Care for her son Eli. Her favorite color was green. She loved her three sons dearly and would do anything for them. She adored her grandchildren and cherished them close to her heart. Elaine was always independent. She would never ask anyone for help. She would always figure it out herself. She would never tell you if she was in pain or wanted to worry any of her loved ones. She was a lady of few words around those she did not know well, yet her eyes clearly spoke all that she held in her heart. Although, she was gone too soon. She was called back home to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and is taking her final journey to Heaven. support Our beloved mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend, she will be dearly missed by all her family and friends. We are incredibly grateful to all the outpouring love and support from family and friends. Thank you all so much. Funeral Services will take place on Saturday, August 15, 2020 at 10:00 am at the Victory Faith Foursquare Church, 823 Angel Duran Drive, Española, NM with Pastor J.D. Miera. Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, all attendees will be required to wear a facemask, practice social distancing and occupancy is limited. Interment will follow the funeral service at the Ojo Sarco Cemetery.
