Elba N. Rios

Mrs. Elba Nellie Rios Rosado, 70, of Stag Run Blvd., Clearwater, FL, went home to a peaceful place after a sudden death on October 25, 2008 at her sister's home in Amsterdam, NY. She was born in Morovis, Puerto Rico on March 25, 1939 the daughter of Juan and Carmen Rosado. On June 20, 1960 she married Manuel A. Rios they were married 48 years until he passed away on April 12, 2005. Elba was educated in Morovis, Puerto Rico and lived there until moving to New York in 1967 with her family. She later settled in Amsterdam in 1972 where she was employed by Coleco. She retired in 1989 due to illness. She was a member of the Pentecostal Church in Amsterdam. Everybody knew Mrs. Rios as "Mamita" She was a wonderful mother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend to so many. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered. Her generous kind and loving spirit will always be with us and will never be diminished. She leaves behind her beloved children, one son, Manuel "Pito" Rios and his wife Myra of Amsterdam. Daughters, Ivelisse "Ivy" Rios, Elizabeth "Mary" Rios, Awilda "Linda" Rios and Angelica "Angie" Rivera all of Clearwater, Florida. Her beloved grandchildren, Alberto "Falfi" Serrano, Ivelisse"Milla" Serrano, Maribel "Mary" Valentin all of Clearwater, FL, Ninja Sagarese, Francisco, Manuel "Manny" Wilbur all of Amsterdam. Her great grandchildren, Kianna and Evin Castro, Angel and Michael Serrano, Italia and Anthony Sagarese, Janelis, Natalie Honesty, and Kylie Lynn Rios. Her three sisters, Olga Juan Valentin of Largo, Fl., Awida Rosado, Dina Jacabo Sanabria all of Amsterdam. Brothers, Pedro Juan Rosado and Angel Rosado both of Amsterdam and Wilfredo Rosado of Gloversville, NY She also leaves behind her loved ones, Myra Santiago, Gilberto Vazquez, Hector and Jackeline Adorno and children Leticia Cabrera, Edna Marquez and Angel Rivera all of Amsterdam. Ricardo Gonzalez, Alexis Salcedo and Fernando Colon all of Clearwater, Florida. Nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. She was pre-deceased by her mother Carmen Rosado on September 27, 2008. Funeral Services will be held on Friday October 31, 2008 at 11:00A.M. at the Pentecostal Church, 231 East Main St. Amsterdam with Pastor Neffali Mendez officiating. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery, Amsterdam, NY. The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday October 30th, 2008 from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam, NY 12010.
