Eleanor Markle Speakman
July 4th, 1913 - October 5th, 2009
96, of St. Petersburg, died Monday, October 5, 2009, at The Allegro at College Harbor. She was born in Sharon, ND and graduated from National-Louis University. She came here in 1968 from New Jersey. She was a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church and Highlanders. She received the "William S. Belcher" award in 1994 from the All Children's Hospital Foundation, where she actively enjoyed volunteering. She was nominated and selected as a princess in the Queen of Hearts Court in 1994 which honors volunteers in the city. She also volunteered at the Christmas Toy Shop, and was a former member of the St. Petersburg Yacht Club. She is survived by two daughters, Irene and Dick Graffam of St. Petersburg, FL, Kristina and Raymond Pasqualone of Hilton Head Island, SC, one son, Arthur and Dawn Markle of High Falls, NY, siblings Fredrica Powell, and Mons Ohnstad, two granddaughters, Becky Lyn Tegze and Robin Markle, and two nieces and three nephews. She was preceded in death by her late husbands Dr. Arthur D. Markle JSD, and Robert Speakman. There will be a gathering at 10:15 am and a memorial service at 11 am at the First Presbyterian Church on Saturday October 10, 2009. In lieu of flowers, Eleanor wished donations be made to the All Children's Hospital.
