Eleanore Clara Szpera
October 20th, 1913 - December 25th, 2017
ELEANORE C. SZPERA age 104 of Jefferson passed away Monday, December 25, 2017, at Alden Estates of Jefferson. She was born October 20, 1913, to Catherine and Joseph Wrzesinski. Eleanore graduated Salutatorian from Girls Tech High School in Milwaukee. She married Leonard Szpera on April 27, 1940, who preceded her in death on December 24, 1976. Eleanore excelled at spelling, trivia, cooking, and baking. She enjoyed travelling with her family and an occasional night out dancing. Being a homemaker and mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother brought her the greatest joy. Eleanore is survived by her family, Daughters: Catherine (Donald) Rueth of Jefferson and Beverly Schmitt of Milwaukee; Grandchildren: Sherry Behnken, Debra Gamble, Jeff (Lynn) Rueth, and Cindi (Jeremy) Wood; Great grandchildren: Sarah and Jenna Behnken, Jennifer (Bradley) Wagner, Amanda (Dahlton) Briggs, Teona (Joseph) Leetzow, Lasa (David) Wenner, and Joshua Rueth; Great-great grandchildren: Jeramius and Jeridian Farmer; Clara and Weston Wagner; Sydney, Lyllie, and Scarlet Briggs; Dalton, Bentley, and Zoey Leetzow, and Yvette Wenner. Eleanore is further survived by one sister Helen Slowik, special niece Patricia O'Donnell, and many other nieces and nephews. Eleanore is also preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Raymond Wrzesinski, sister Alice Mecikalski and niece Carol Wojciechowski, and grandson-in-law Steven Behnken. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, December 29, 2017, at Alden Estates with the Rev. Thomas Coyle presiding. Visitation will be in the multipurpose room from 12:00 noon until 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow the service in the St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the staff on B200 at Alden Estates of Jefferson for their kind and compassionate care these past four years.
