Elena "Ellen" Tumacder
August 18th, 1946 - August 18th, 2022
Elena "Ellen" Tumacder passed away peacefully on her birthday on August 18, 2022 in Salinas at the age of 76, after a hard fought 4 year battle with cancer. She was born in the Philippines in 1946 to Cruz Ranario and Blumenta Bagaslao. Ellen has lived in Salinas for over 40 years and owned a care home for over 30 of those years, as well as retired from the Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula. Ellen enjoyed traveling, spending time with family, cooking for others, being a renowned fashionista, and taking care of people, especially her grandchildren. Ellen was preceded in death by her father, mother, and brother, Andy Libarnes. She is survived by her husband of 24 years, Manuel Quebec; her children, Jocelyn Paluck (John), Elgene Tumacder (Perla), and step sons, Manny Quebec, Antoni Quebec (Alejandra), her 10 grandchildren, and her 4 sister/cousins, Lina Lozada, Emma Long, Consuelo Villas and Gloria Gervacio. A viewing will be held for Ellen on Tuesday, August 30th from 1PM-5PM with a Rosary Prayer Service at 4PM at Healey Mortuary Chapel. A Funeral Mass will be Wednesday, August 31st, at 9:30AM at Sacred Heart Church in Salinas, followed by burial at Queen of Heaven Cemetery. To offer online condolences visit www.healeymortuary.com

He and his wife founded Salinas Valley Mortuary in 1956 to help serve the families in the Salinas Valley area. Their lifelong mission was to unselfishly serve area families based on their strong, trusting relationship with their community – something we honor to this day almost seven decades years later....
