Elie Vickers Sears, 90, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, October 28, 2023. A funeral service is scheduled for Monday, October 30, 2:00PM in the Mausoleum Chapel of Parkway Memorial Gardens with Rev. Steve Ard and Pastor Jeremy Singletary officiating. Mr. Sears will lie in state Sunday, October 29 at Heritage Memorial Funeral Home. Elie was born February 14, 1933 in Douglas, Georgia to the late Virgil and Pearl Sears. He retired from civil service on Robins Air Force Base after 37 years. Before Elie worked on the base, his passion was in law enforcement. He served as the Chief Deputy Sheriff for Coffee County Sheriff's Office, a Deputy Sheriff for Houston County Sheriff's Office, and as an officer for the Warner Robins Police Department. Elie was a member of the Peace Officers Association, attended the Gateway Fellowship Church in Macon, and was an avid fisherman. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather and everyone who knew him will miss him. Elie is survived by his loving wife of forty-nine years, Grace Sears; daughter, Cheryl Scarborough (Riley) of Warner Robins; sons: Richard Sears of Kathleen, Roger Sears (Reba) of Roberta, Larry Monroe (Karen) of Lizella, and Michael Sears (Barbara) of Northport, Florida; grandchildren: Spencer Powell, Jeremy Sears, Rick Sears, Dillon Bowman and Chanel Harrison; and several great grandchildren. Flowers are accepted, however, the family would like to extend their sincerest thanks to Pine Point Hospice by requesting donations be made in Elie's honor to 6261 Peake Rd, Macon, GA 31210.
