Elinor passed away Sunday, January 21, 2024 at Suncoast Hospice Woodside. Elinor was born on January 29, 1936 in East St. Louis, Illinois to Robert and Helen Bell. She lived in Southern Illinois until 1957 when her family moved to St. Petersburg, Florida. Soon after arriving in Florida, Elinor started working for the U.S. Government and continued this association for 40 years. Her final assignment was at Bay Pines Veterans' Hospital in St. Petersburg as secretary to a department head. Elinor seldom missed an opportunity to participate in volunteer activities to help others in her church or in the community. She was widely known as a generous, giving, selfless person. Elinor is survived by her brother James Bell, niece Karen Clark (Beau), two grand-nieces Fiona Bell and Alexandra Clark, and two grand-nephews Garrett Clark and Liam Bell. A Celebration-of-Life will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 27th at Northside Baptist Church in St. Petersburg. In lieu of flowers, please send a donation to the Northside Food Pantry where Elinor served faithfully. Burial will be private.
