Elisa Proo Roybal

We celebrate the life of Elisa Proo Roybal, our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, friend, and so much more. A lifelong resident of New Mexico, Elisa was born in Santa Rita and lived in Albuquerque for 90 years. A fierce lover of her family, if you knew Elisa, you knew her late husband, Alejandro, and her children: Rosita and Michael Gallegos, Alex Roybal, and Carlos and Cheryl Roybal; their children, and grandchildren. If you happened by Elisa’s home, you’d be greeted with a warm, battered tortilla, even warmer conversation, and a ferocious game of scrabble or canasta. Her generosity will always be unparalleled, and abundant love forever cherished.

Our dear mother Elisa Proo Roybal passed away on May 26, 2024, at the age of 97. She was a wonderful mother who always offered support, wisdom, and love in abundance. She was born in Santa Rita, New Mexico and was a resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico for 90 years. She was predeceased by her husband Alejandro Roybal, and leaves behind her children, Rosita and Michael Gallegos, Carlos and Cheryl Roybal, Alex Roybal, 6 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren along with many loving nieces, nephews, and countless friends.

Services will be held at Gate of Heaven Church on May 30, 2024 at 10:30 am
