Elizabeth Cocks Alderman was born November 29, 1931 in Tampa, Fl. and passed away December 10th, 2013 . She moved to Jacksonville at an early age where she graduated from Robert E. Lee High School and went to work for the Bell System phone company. Elizabeth met her husband Bridges T. (Buck) Alderman on a first date to play golf. She said it ruined her new shoes but Buck was so charming she didn't mind. They were married 62 years. They lived mostly in Florida, with a second home in North Carolina after they retired from their marine business, Alderman Marine in Ocoee, Fl. Elizabeth was a wonderful mother, business woman, and a great homemaker. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, gardening, knitting, fishing, and talking to people. Orchids were her favorite flowers. She is survived by her husband and three children, Deborah Anderson of Little Rock, Ak., Barbara Alderman of Cocoa Beach, Fl. and David Alderman of Orlando, Fl., five grandchildren, and her sister, Barbara Green of Jacksonville, Fl. Dear Buck, Barbara, Tim & family,I have the fondest memories of Betty as a kind, loving, beautiful, fun-loving aunt with a generous heart and a spirit of adventure. I admired her and was especially grateful for her kindness toward my mom. Although her passing is difficult I take inspiration in knowing that she and Buck had an amazing lifelong love story that is rare in this world. Keeping her memory locked like a treasure in my heart! Sorry I cannot be with you at the memorial but please know my thoughts are with you all. Love Liz
