In Loving Memory
Elizabeth (“Betty”) Arant, of West Columbia, SC, passed away on August 15, 2024, after a brief illness. Born in Winnsboro, SC on January 30, 1931 to Clyde W. Surratt and Lettie Williamson Surratt. She was married to James S. Arant.
Betty is survived by her children, B. LeAnn Arant of Mountain Rest, SC, Debby Zeun (Robert) also of Mountain Rest, SC, James Arant (Ruth) of Cleveland, GA and Terry Coston (Geoffrey) of Lexington, SC; grandchildren, Louis Zeun (Aya) of Tokyo, Brian Arant (Kaylor) of Irasburg, VT, Lindsey Stewart (Matt) of North Augusta SC, Sarah Leaphart (Ryan) of Lexington, SC and Andrew Coston (Ella) of Lexington, SC. She is also survived by 10 great grandchildren and many special cousins. She was predeceased by her husband, James Sifley Arant; mother, Lettie Weed; father, Clyde Surratt; and brother, Ray Surratt.
Her celebration of life is planned for Tuesday, August 20, 2024 at Grace United Methodist Church, 410 Harbison Blvd. in Columbia, SC. The family will greet visitors at 10:00AM in the Social Hall of the church, with the service immediately following at 11:00AM. The burial will be at Oaklawn Cemetery in Winnsboro, SC.
