Elizabeth Betsy Bochsler
August 14th, 1934 - July 31st, 2014
My Life Story Elizabeth Marie Bochsler (Betsy), 79, passed away peacefully at home in Meridian on July 31st. Betsy was born August 14th, 1934 in Hillsboro, OR. She was the oldest of three children of Wilfred and Marie Verboort. She graduated from high school at Mt. Angel Academy and then attended nurses’ training at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eugene. She married Robert Bochsler (Bob) January 14th, 1956. Bob and Betsy lived in Pendleton, OR, Nampa, ID and Avon, NY before retiring and returning to Idaho in 1990. In addition to raising six children, Betsy worked intermittently as a nurse in Pendleton and Nampa, plus over 10 years at the Avon Nursing Home. Betsy was known for her outstanding homemaking skills and was a talented seamstress and accomplished baker, as anyone who has sampled her fruit pie could attest. In their retirement, Betsy and Bob enjoyed travel, gardening, camping, hiking and fishing. Betsy also enjoyed attending classical music and theater performances in the Boise area, and volunteered for 20 years at the local St. Vincent de Paul thrift store. Survivors include her husband, Bob Bochsler and her children Mary Beth Curry, Bobby (Nancy) Bochsler, Jack (Joanne) Bochsler, Jane (Steve) Regnier, Dan Bochsler and Anne (Chris) Harrington, six grandchildren, as well as her brothers Richard (Theresa) Verboort and Willie (Deanna) Verboort. Betsy’s family loved her dearly and will miss her presence in their lives. The family would like to thank Hearts of Hospice for their loving care during Betsy’s final days, as well as the many family and friends who supported Betsy and her family during her illness. Funeral Mass, officiated by Father Len MacMillan, will be held on Friday, August 8th at 11:00 AM at Holy Apostles Catholic Church, 6300 N. Meridian Rd., Meridian. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Vincent de Paul Society, 213 N Main St., Meridian ID 83642, or another charity of your choosing. Services are under the direction of Accent Funeral Home, Meridian. Remembrances may be left for the family at www.AccentFuneral.com.

We Entrusted Elizabeth Betsy Bochsler's Care To
Accent Funeral Home
A local landmark in Meridian, Accent Funeral Home has been serving the community since 1986. The business was first established with a vision to offer services in a comfortable, homelike atmosphere. This vision is reflected in our building, a Tudor-style home built in 1938 for a local postman. When remodeling the house to accommodate the funeral home, much care was taken to preserve the original architectural integrity of the building. The Accent Funeral Home holds a special relationship with the Meridian community and is sensitive to the area’s changing needs, providing service and friendship to comfort those we serve....
