Elizabeth A. Doherty, "Betty" (nee Nieder) of West Deptford, New Jersey, passed away on Wednesday, April 27, 2022. She was 96. Legacy Born and raised in Woodbury, Betty graduated from Woodbury High School where she earned varsity letters in three sports. She then attended and graduated from Pierce Business College. Betty worked as a Legal Secretary for more than 35 years for Tomlin, Clark & Hopkins until her retirement in 1992. Away from her work, Betty was a devoted Catholic and organist for Saint Patrick's R. C. Church and many other local parishes. Betty was a humble woman of God who really never knew the depth of connection that she made with people that she met along her life's journey. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved this special woman. Family Betty is the beloved wife of the late Martin J. Doherty & Thomas P. Gilligan; loving mother of Richard (Judy van Tijn) Gilligan, Patricia (Eric) Iffrig, Barbara (Richard) Feduska, Martin J. (Mary Catherine) Doherty Jr.; cherished sister of Catherine Schaffer, William Nieder, the late Mary Jane Brown & John Nieder; sister in law of Theodora & Shirley Nieder; grandmother of 12 and great grandmother of 10. Farewell Tribute Relatives and friends are invited to attend her visitation at 8:30AM on Tuesday in the McGuinness Funeral Home - Woodbury, 34 Hunter Street. If you are unable to attend the Funeral Service you may click here (Betty Doherty Service) Interment will follow in New Saint Mary's Cemetery, Bellmawr.
