Elizabeth "Beth" Eoline Emerson

Elizabeth (Beth) Eoline Emerson passed on January 27, 2024.Ā She was 89 years old.Ā
Beth was born on September 20, 1934, in Yreka, California to William (Nate) Clayton and Elizabeth (Liz) Blanche Fairchild.Ā She graduated from Corvallis High School in 1952.Ā

On August 2nd, 1953, she married James Morris Brown in Anlauf, Oregon. They later divorced.Ā She married Carroll (Sid) Emerson in Reno, Nevada on February 15th, 1969, and were married for 53 years until his passing September 12, 2022.

Beth lived most of her adult life in the Elmira, Oregon area.Ā She worked for Oregon State College, US Plywood and the University of Oregon in the Business Office for over 27 years as head of the Cashiers and Requisitions Department. She retired January 1st, 1995.Ā She belonged to the Oregon Public Purchasing Association (OPPA) and TOPS.Ā

She enjoyed her beautiful family, the coast, traveling, camping, reading, collecting antique dishes, astronomy, sewing, cooking, bunco, great friends, flowers, photos, doing Cryptoquotes, Sudoku and Crossword puzzles. She loved to sing.Ā As the daughter of a logger, she attended 24 schools, not counting the ones she went to twice.

She is survived by her five children, Kathleen Anne Hall of Eugene, OR; Shalline Elizabeth Nielsen of Eugene, OR; Debra Sue Plourd of Veneta, OR. Steven James Brown of Portland, OR; and Lisa Emerson Polvi of Otis, OR.Ā She is also survived by ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, one step granddaughter and one step great-granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by her husband Sid, her parents, two brothers, a baby son and a grandson. Ā

A celebration of life will be held on February 18th, 2024, at 1:00 for Beth at Musgrove Family Mortuary in Eugene.
