Elizabeth ?Betty? Kuzmich, 87, of Glen Avenue, Scotia, passed away suddenly Friday at her home. Born in Amsterdam, New York on November 23, 1919, she was the daughter of the late John and Helen Kazlauskas Stanionis and was educated in Amsterdam schools. She worked as an inspector for the General Electric Company in Schenectady for a number of years. An active communicant of St. Casimir?s Roman Catholic Church, she was a member of its Living Rosary Society, Ladies Auxiliary, the choir and Council 100 of the Knights of Lithuania. Her parish meant a lot to her and each week she volunteered as a church cleaner. Recently, Betty became an active member of the Scotia Seniors. Her husband, Victor Kuzmich, predeceased her on January 7, 1976. Also, her brothers, John and Bennie Stanionis, and a sister, Mary C. Stanionis predeceased her as well. Her loving family includes her brother, Joseph P. Stanionis of West Haven Vermont, and a niece, Lin Stanionis. Cousins also survive. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial, which will be celebrated Friday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Casimir?s Church. Fr. Stanley J. Swierzowski, officiating. Interment is in St. Casimir?s Cemetery. Calling hours are private at the family?s convenience and at Betty?s request. Contributions may be made to St. Casimir?s Memorial Fund, 260 East Main Street, Amsterdam 12010.
