Elizabeth Ann Serke April 6, 1926 - December 17, 2017 Resident of Pleasant Hill Elizabeth (Betty) Serke was born and raised in Oakland. She was a long time resident of Pleasant Hill. Betty graduated from Providence College of Nursing in 1947. Upon graduation she worked at Providence Hospital for 5 years in surgery, obstetrics and central supply. After Providence she went to work at Owens-Illinois as a plant Nurse, where she met her husband Steve. The two married in 1954, had four daughters and made their home in Pleasant Hill. Betty kept busy raising her family, volunteering as a school nurse and the womens club at her daughters school, Christ the King, and then later bowling on their womens league. She is survived by her daughters Karen Wright, Julie Fead, Mary Serke and Ellen Ladouceur; Son-in-laws David Wright, John Fead, Malcolm Smith and Christopher Ladouceur; Grandchildren Ben Robinson, Kevin Fead, Ken Robinson, Scott Robinson, Emily Robinson, Kelly Fead, Daniel Robinson, William Ladouceur, Andrew Ladouceur, Joshua Ladouceur, Maxwell Serke-Smith and Ella Serke-Smith; Great-grandchildren Frank Robinson, Will Robinson, Ruby Robinson and Denver Robinson. She is also survived by her brothers John and Clem Korte and sister Edith Driscoll. She was preceded in death by her sister Claire Carriere. Her final resting place will be Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Lafayette, CA. Memorial contributions are suggested in lieu of flowers to Carondelet High School, 1133 Winton Drive, Concord CA 94518 All are invited to a Rosary at 11:45am and Memorial Mass at 12 noon, Jan 27, 2018, at Christ the King Church in Pleasant Hill at 199 Brandon Road, Pleasant Hill CA, 94523.
