Elizabeth Ann Thompson-Comer
July 6th, 1938 - December 3rd, 2018
Elizabeth Thompson Comer passed away, peacefully, at home on December 3, 2018. She turned 80 years young on July 6, 2018. Elizabeth hailed from 'across the pond' from the town of Peterborough, England. Her late parents were Herbert Hulme Arnall and Margaret Jean Cheshire Arnall. She is survived by her second husband, Roger Theodore Comer. Elizabeth was widowed, in middle age, after 25 years of marriage to Howard Abbe Thompson. She is survived by her four children with Howard: Gillian Thompson, Hulme Thompson, Hillary Tutt, Gytha Thompson, daughter in law Lisa Thompson, and four grandson's Heath Thompson, Gage Thompson, Reese Tutt, and Max Tutt. She is also survived by her stepdaughters, Joan Kuykendall, and Pam Davis. She came to America, on the Queen Mary with her parents, when she was 10 years old, and they settled in Massachusetts. She enjoyed math, field hockey and marathon monopoly. As a young adult, she came to Florida with her parents after she graduated from LaSalle Junior College with an associate degree in science. She worked at All Children's Hospital in St. Petersburg, for 28 years, as a medical transcriptionist.. She was a Girl Scout Leader for twelve years, and an active member of Beta Sigma Phi. She enjoyed, and had been a season ticket holder for many years of The Florida Orchestra, and American Stage. She served meals on wheels and served in many churches over the years including singing in the choir at Grace Lutheran Church. Elizabeth had a caring, and compassionate heart who enjoyed helping others. She will be dearly missed by many for her kindness, wit, and enjoyment of life. A memorial service will be held on January 12, 2019 at 6pm at Anderson McQueen Funeral Home 2201 Dr. M.L.K. Jr St N, St. Petersburg, Fl. In lieu of flowers, Elizabeth would like donations made in her memory to any of these worthy organizations: JDRF.org, or suncoasthospice.org, or amfar.org
