Eljo Lee Sutherland

Eljo Lee Sutherland passed away November 17, 2022, at Panorama in Lacey, Washington, her home the last five years. She was born February 8, 1928, to Harold and Kathleen Newcomer in Sheridan, Wyoming. A graduate of Olympia High School, Eljo was an accountant/bookkeeper for American Manufacturing in Tacoma, Washington. She also was the Journal Clerk for the Washington State House of Representatives, from which she retired in 1988. Eljo was a caring mother and grandmother, homemaker, seamstress, quilter, knitter, and avid reader. She also loved gardening, golf, playing cards with family and friends, traveling, and camping/RV-ing. She is survived by her son, Dana Brown (Yvonne); daughters, Susan Frans, Kimberly Lugar (Rick), and Mitzi Jones (John); six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and dear friend, Dale Rogers. She was predeceased by her husband, Howard C. Sutherland; parents; sister, Donna (Newcomer) Haeger; and brother, Thomas Newcomer.
