Guenther, Ellen D. 77, former resident of St. Petersburg, FL, died Tuesday, October 21, 2014 in Moore, Oklahoma. Born in Macy, Indiana she came here in the early 1970's. She graduated from Peru Indiana High School. She was a member of Lutheran Church of the Cross in St. Petersburg, FL. She worked as a secretary and retired from the FAA. She was preceded in death by her parents Harry and Ester Sheets, her husband Lt. Col. Leland H. Guenther, and her sister Charlene Blackman of Peru, Indiana. She is survived by children, Kimberly Conover Castellanos (husband—Heriberto), Valerie Elliott (husband—Chris, sons—Jason and Terrell), Calvin Conover (wife—Annette, sons-Christopher, Calvin and daughter—Abigayle), Lisa Breault (son—Darin and daughter—Melanie); step-children, Barbara Griffin (husband—Jerry, sons Michael, Jim and daughter Karin), Beverly Guenther Weil (husband—Bob, son—Robbie and daughter—Heather), Patti Guenther Brown; eight great grandchildren. She is also survived by her very special brother in law, Donald Blackman; and nephews Michael, Jeffrey and Jon Blackman. There will be a visitation from 5-7 PM on Sunday, October 26, 2014 at Anderson McQueen Funeral Home, 2201 Dr. MLK St. N., St. Petersburg. A funeral service will be held at 11 AM, Monday, October 27 at Lutheran Church of the Cross, 4545 Chancellor Street NE, St. Petersburg where friends may call from 10 AM. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery. Donations may be made in Ellen's name to Lutheran Church of the Cross, St. Petersburg, FL.
