Elsie Floyd Baine, 90, of Columbia passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, February 23, 2014. Born in Galivants Ferry, SC on October 30, 1923, she was the daughter of the late John and Minnie Lee Floyd of Aynor, SC. She was a graduate of Columbia College and taught school in Horry County. She moved to Columbia in 1956 with her late husband, Robert R. Baine, Jr. where she lived the rest of her glorious life. Surviving are her three sons and one daughter, Terry Baine of Irmo, Eddie Baine of Columbia, Bobby Baine and wife Diane Baine of Irmo and June Baine Sallee and husband Doug Sallee of Raleigh NC; four grandchildren, Amanda Roberson and husband Keith Roberson of Raleigh, NC, Brandon Sallee of Raleigh, NC, Kelly Baine of Irmo, SC, Katie Shuler and husband Jason Shuler of Irmo, SC, four great-grandchildren, Conner Baine, Kaylee Shuler, Harper and Jake Roberson; sister, Patsy Brown of Greenwood, SC. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her brothers, Mack Floyd, Harold Floyd, Ted Floyd, Hubert Floyd and sisters, Florence Garris and Mable Brown. The family would like to thank Agape and staff for the care they gave and a very special thank you to Evelyn Kershaw for all the love and care that she brought to their Mother. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, February 27, 2014 at 3pm at St. Andrews Baptist Church, 230 Bush River Road Columbia SC 29210. Interment will follow in Woodridge Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1:30pm until the hour of service at the church. Woodridge Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
