Elsie Conjura

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Elsie Conjura on December 21st, 2022. Elsie’s full and vibrant life began on Tuesday, December 11, 1928. Her passion for loving and caring for others truly blossomed when she married the love of her life, Albert “Bud” Conjura in St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Spring Vally, New York on July 28th, 1950. Elsie was so very proud of her daughter, Kris, her son, Joe, and her grandchildren, Michael, Kimberly, Christopher, Jeremy, and Jillian. When her family grew to include four great grandchildren, Piper, Zoey, Lucas & Brooklyn, she was even happier. Elsie’s family extended to many nieces and nephews. There are many family friends whose children called her “Aunt Elsie”. She loved loving so many! Elsie was very passionate about her daffodils and her gardens. When she moved from Monsey to Stony Point in the mid 1980’s she brought as many daffodil bulbs Bud could dig up for her, and there were many. In the spring her gardens were a bright and vivid yellow! During the summers her wisteria bushes would bloom with vibrate purple flowers that would last throughout the summer. Her passion for gardening would be with her well into her 90’s. Gardening and birds … she loved her birds! Her two favorites are the red cardinals and the noisy blue jays. She would always say, “when you see a yellow finch, it means someone who passed is thinking of you.” Mother Nature and the great outdoors could always make Elsie smile. Elsie’s independence, strength, fortitude, and ability to care for others continued well after losing her great love, Bud, in 2017. As we celebrate Elsie today on this 28th day of December we know that she is smiling brightly today as she is with Bud once more. Her heart was always with Bud. They are together again, along with so many family members and friends who have gone before her. Whether you called her “Sis”, as her brothers Joe and Bob did, Hon as Bud did, Mom, Grammie, or NY Grammie as her California great grandchildren did, Aunt Elsie, or friend, she was a true lady who touched so many with her kind words and gentleness.
