Elsie Ella Woods

Elsie Ella Woods, 95, of Kingsport went home to be with the Lord on Friday, September 28, 2018 at Holston Valley Medical Center. Elsie was born on October 10, 1922 to the late Elbert and Rena Mae Fugate Lane in Scott Co, Virginia. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, sister, and friend. She loved to garden, have big family dinners, tend to her flowers, and enjoy her family in all of their activities. Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her husband of almost 80 years, Coy Haskell Woods; her daughter, Venus Alene Snodgrass; sons, Daniel Bruce Woods and Gene Autry Woods; grandsons, Wesley Woods, Brad Woods, and Coy “Little Coy” Woods; great great grandson, Bradley Perkey; sisters, Lillie Gillenwater and Pearl Ramey; and brothers, Bruce Lane, Lester lane, Ballard Lane, Daniel Lane, Allen Lane, Leonard Lane, And Fred Lane. Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Rena Mae Hutchins and husband Bud and Peggy Linda Fleenor; sons, Donald Lee Woods and wife Doris, Curtis Alvin Woods and wife Debbie, Elbert Andrew “Robert” Woods and wife Debbie, Coy “Jr.” Woods; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren; brothers, Leeland Lane and Beecher Lane; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 2, 2018 from 5pm to 7pm at Carter Trent Funeral Home, Downtown Kingsport. A funeral service will follow with Bro. Ed McLain and Reverend Earl Bailey officiating. Music will be provided by the True Faith Quartet. A graveside service will be on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at 1pm in the Garden of Everlasting Life in East Lawn Memorial Park with Bro. Ed McLain and Reverend Earl Bailey officiating. Pallbearers will be Josh Woods, Trever Berry, Chucky Hutchins, Brendon Woods, Brian Woods, Cody Snodgrass, and Shawn Woods. Those wishing to go in procession are asked to meet at the funeral home at 12pm. Carter Trent Funeral Home, Downtown Kingsport is serving the Woods Family.
