Parent, Elwood W., 87, of St. Petersburg, died Thursday March 2, 2000 at Edward White Hospital. Born in Fort Wayne, Indiana he moved to Lakeland in 1978 and then in January 2000 he moved to The Masonic Home of Florida in St. Petersburg. He was a retired U.S. Postal Clerk. In Lakeland he was a member of the Southland Masonic Lodge #256 F. & A.M.; Lakeland York Rite Bodies where he was Past Commander and Past High Priest. He was a member of the Scottish Rite and Egypt Shrine Temple in Tampa. He was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star and a member of the Amaranth. During WWII he served in the Navy as a Medic. He was Protestant. Survivors include his sister, Helen Ryder and a niece Janice Lothamer both of Fort Wayne, Indiana. Anderson-McQueen Funeral Homes & Cremation Tribute Center-Ninth Street Chapel, St. Petersburg.
