All-States Cremation - Wheat Ridge
Emilio Cruz
December 23rd, 1957 - May 30th, 2019
It is with great sadness that after a little over a year battling Esophageal Cancer that Emilio Cruz, known to friends and family as “Paco” passed away on May 30th, 2019 at the age of 61. Emilio “Paco” Cruz was born to Edward R Sierra Cruz and Maria Adela Alvarez Cruz Moreno in California where he spent the majority of his childhood and teenage years. Emilio moved to Colorado in the late ’70s and not long after met his wife Esther J. Arellano. He accepted her three children as his own Ruben, Constance, and Daniel (Danny). Within the next few years, Emilio had two children with his then-wife Esther, Maclovio, and David. After his divorce, Emilio moved to Las Animas Colorado where he obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology. He later moved to Denver and worked for a while at the Denver Post also as a Counselor at Thornton High School. Emilio was diagnosed with cancer in 2007 and was given 6 months to live however his cancer went into remission and came back in December of 2017 and again was only given 6 months to live, he went through Chemo and Radiation and at times things looked very bleak but him being the strong man that he has always been outlived the 6 months making it for another year and 6 months. Emilio was a giving man and he often helped the homeless around the area where he lived. He would often leave his house at night and give food to the homeless even giving them shelter at times. My father was a great man and showed us all about compassion and helping others in times of need he will be missed as he touched the hearts of all he came across in one way or another. Emilio loved his family and friends and had a great passion for his football team the Oakland Raiders. Emilio was survived by his children Ruben, Constance, Daniel, Michelle, Maclovio and David; his 19 grandchildren including his grandson Billy Noah Beard who also has passed and sure was there to meet him when he got to the gates in Heaven. Emilio was also survived by his 11 brothers and sisters with the exception of my his brother Michael who I’m also sure was there to greet him at the gates in Heaven. Services for Emilio “Paco” Cruz are being held next Thursday, June 13th at Harvey Park Christian Church located at 3401 S Lowell Blvd, Denver, CO 80236. Services start with viewing at 10:30 followed by the Services. Come celebrate his life. My my pops has gone HOME to be with his mother, father and his brother Michael. Afterward please join us at the fellowship at Harvey Park Christian Center to celebrate his life with good food and great people who come far and wide to pay their respects to my father Emilio “Paco” Cruz. This will be a pot luck so if you can bring anything to help with food etc. please let us know. Hope to see you there and I know my pops will be smiling down on us all that day!
