Emma Alice Jewell Cox

November 14th, 1935 - September 2nd, 2024

Jewell Cox, 88 years of age, passed on Monday September 2, 2024 at home.

Jewell was born in Sweetwater TN on November 14, 1935.  She was born to the late Charles & Edna Forshee.  Sister to Charles Jr., T.R., Kenneth, Earl, Jimmy, Joyce, Betty and Marie.

She is survived by her husband Daryl Cox of 72 years and sister Joyce Plemmons. Children: Billy Cox (Jane), Karen Steedley (James) and Elaine Cox. Grandchildren: Vicki Kilbride (Mike), Jessica Johnson (Tom), Courtney Otten (Alex), Joshua McCardel (Rachel) and Amber Fussell. Great grandchildren: Matt, Sarah, Emma, Maci, Salem and (soon to be) Camryn. Step-grandchildren: Brent, Michael and Jeremy Steedley (Candy). Along with 10 step great grandchildren.

She worked alongside her husband in their business since 1960.  She was a housewife and mother to three children.  She volunteered at the Kiwanis Thrift Store for over 8 years. She enjoyed traveling, visiting family, camping and taking care of her family. 

We would like to thank Hope Hospice for their help and encouragement during her last days.

Services will be held Saturday, September 14, 2024 at Akin Davis Funeral Home in LaBelle.  Visitation will start at 1pm and memorial services will be at 2pm. Graveside to follow at Ridgelawn Cemetary in Clewiston, FL.
