Emma T. “Bubbles” Greer died on January 11, 2019. She was born on November 16, 1929 in Sarasota, Florida. She graduated in 1947 from Sarasota High School and retired from the Sarasota Herald Tribune where she wrote “Manatee Notes” for over 20 years. She was an avid Florida Gators fan and loved history. She attended Christ Episcopal Church for over 50 years. She was Past President of the Judah P. Benjamin Chapter 1545, United Daughters of the Confederacy and had been made Honorary Division President. Longtime member of the Manatee County Historical Society and Historical Commission, Past President and Honorary Member for Life. She was preceded in death by her husband W.C. “Bud” Greer; daughter, Beth; parents Francis & Mary Scott of Sarasota; and a brother John Norman of Naples. She is survived by her sons, Michael Greer & Rob Greer (Sharon), and grandson, Brian Greer. Viewing will take place Monday, January 21st from 5-7pm at Griffith-Cline Funeral Home, 720 Manatee Ave. West, Bradenton. Funeral will be held Tuesday, January 22nd at 11:00am at the same location. Burial will be at Manasota Memorial Park.
