Emma Jean McElhaney, 92 of Salinas Passed away peacefully Monday, January 24, 2012. Born in Ozark, Arkansas May 25, 1919, she resided in Salinas for the past 60 years. She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn (Dennis) McElhaney Gattis of Salinas, a brother, Graydon Keith Bearden of Winchester, CA, a sister, Janice Morris of Ozark, AR. She also leaves 5 Grandchildren, Tim Wheelus, Gayla Wheelus, Brian Gattis, Tina Creighton, and David Gattis, along with 9 Great Grandchildren. Emma is preceded in death by her husband, Everette McElhaney, her parents, a daughter, Margaret Wheelus, and a sister, Norma Holiday. Visitation will be held at the Healey Mortuary on Thursday, January 26, 2012 from 1 to 9 PM. Funeral Services will be held Friday, January 27, 2012 at 1:00 P.M. at the Mortuary Chapel. Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery, 850 Abbott St, Salinas, CA.
