Emmett Lee Knutzen

Emmett Lee Knutzen was born August 24, 1934 in San Jose, California to Dorothy Lee and Theodore John. After high school he served in the US Navy during the Korean War before working for the San Jose City Railroad. In 1961, Emmett joined the San Jose Fire Department where he served until his retirement in 1988.On April 18, 1970 Emmett married Joann Imwalle. They were rarely apart during their 46 years of marriage.Throughout his life Emmett was adored by animals (sometimes despite his best efforts). His Sunday afternoons were spent watching football yelling at the players and coaches. He was a great cook and family gatherings wont be the same without his enchiladas or zucchini casserole. Emmett is survived by his wife, Joann, and their children Robert, Erin, John and Stephen.
