September 7th, 1925 - June 4th, 2013
Emmi Secora, age 87, of Waukesha, passed away Tuesday, June 4, 2013 surrounded by her loving family at The Virginia Health and Rehabilitation Center. Emmi was born in Eibelshausen, Germany on September 7, 1925, the daughter of Herman and Lina (Muller) Klingelhoefer. Emmi met her future husband James Secora after the end of WWII in Germany. She followed him to Waukesha where the couple was united in marriage at St. Joseph's Catholic Church on July 19, 1947. Emmi was a charter member of St. William Catholic Church, the Sorrowful Mothers, and the Christian Mothers. She enjoyed visiting patients at Waukesha Memorial Hospital as well as visiting and taking communion to the patients at LindenGrove and Waukesha Springs. Emmi was a member of the Cosmopolitan Club which was an organization for war brides. She loved gardening and canning, making homemade currant jelly, knitting, crocheting, and was known for sewing children's clothes. Emmi is survived by her loving children, James (Kathy) Secora of Hoffman Estates, IL; Judy (Bill) Laing of Chicago, IL; Chris (Pete) Mowat of Waukesha; grandchildren, Cheryl (Jonathan) Secora Pearl of Racine, WI, Steve (Beth) Secora of Reno, NV; great-grandchildren, Remy, Eddie, Viktor, R.J., and Mikey. Emmi is further survived by other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, James, parents, 6 brothers, and 5 sisters. The visitation for Emmi will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the 12:00 Noon Mass of Christian Burial, on Monday, June 10, 2013, at St. William Catholic Church, 440 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha, WI 53188. The Reverend Curt Frederick will be officiating. Entombment will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Waukesha. The family would like to acknowledge Dr. M. Kern for the care he provided to Emmi, as well as to Tina and Amanda for their loving care of Emmi. The family would also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of those at Waukesha Memorial Hospital ER, 5SW, 5NW, the City of Waukesha Fire Department, Virginia Nursing Home and Seasons Hospice, who provided outstanding care, comfort and support to Emmi and her family.
