Enders V. Ingersoll
November 20th, 1919 - July 18th, 2007
Enders V. Ingersoll, 87, of Ingersoll Road, Fultonville, passed away Wednesday at Albany Medical Center as the result of an accident. Born in Amsterdam on Nov. 20, 1919, the last surviving child of Alexander and Emma Francisco Ingersoll, he resided in his home on Ingersoll Road for his entire life. He was engaged in the operation of his family?s dairy farm for a number of years until it was sold in 1970. Until he retired in 1984, Enders worked for the Montgomery County Highway Department. After that, he devoted himself to the Meals For The Elderly Program and truly enjoyed that service to his community. In his youth, he was a member of the 4 H, and also the local Farm Bureau. Enders and his wife were strong in their faith, and were dedicated members of the Glen Reformed Church. He sang in it?s choir, served on it?s consistory and served as a faithful sexton for many years. An avid gardener, he enjoyed his vegetables and flowers and was an excellent woodcrafter. Enders Ingersoll was truly a much loved and respected gentleman. On Sept. 13, 1947, he was united in marriage to the former Bessie Fonda. In addition to his beloved wife, he leaves his daughter; Grace M. and her husband Jim Halladay of New Cumberland, PA.; grandchildren; Brad and his wife Jackie and Janelle Halladay; nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his siblings; George, Edward, Janette and J. Albert. A service to celebrate his life will take place on Monday at 10:00 am at the Glen Reformed Church. The Rev. Stacey Midge officiating. Interment will follow in Maple Avenue Cemetery. Calling hours are Sunday from 1-4 pm at the Jackson & Betz Funeral Home, 15 Main Street, Fultonville. Contributions may be made to the Glen Reformed Church or the Christian Church Of Rural Grove, both in care of the funeral home office.
