Eric Ellis Bishop

April 6th, 1972 - April 18th, 2012

Eric Ellis Bishop, 40, of Caldwell, passed away unexpectedly of natural causes on April 18, 2012. Eric was born April 6, 1972 in Caldwell, Idaho to Don and Kathy Bishop. He was raised on a ranch west of Wilder and attended school in Roswell, Greenleaf and Parma. During his junior year of high school he joined the National Guard and spent his summer at boot camp in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. After graduating from Parma High in 1990 he joined the U.S. Army and serviced for 6 years. Eric would have retired from the military had he not been injured while serving overseas during the Persian Gulf War. He spent his adult life living in Colorado and Idaho, taking college courses towards his diesel mechanics degree. Eric loved working on cars and always had a “garage” project going on. Eric loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing with his brother, Andy, father Don and friends. He also loved the snow and would go to the McCall Ice Festival yearly with his sister Julie. Eric was a loving and devoted father to three beautiful children; Kylie, Hailey and Rayce. Eric was preceded in death by his grandfather Pete Bishop, grandmother Thelma Skinner and grandfather Kenneth Skinner. He is survived by his grandmother Delaris Bishop of Pasco, WA, his mother Kathy Bishop of Parma, his father Don (Shirly) Bishop of Pasco, WA, his brother Andy (Chelsi) Bishop of Parma, his sister Julie (James) Jordan of McCall, his three children, daughter Kylie Bishop of Penrose, CO, daughter Hailey Bishop of Caldwell, ID and son Rayce Bishop of Parma, ID as well as numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at The Assembly of God (“The Domes”) in Caldwell, ID on Monday, April 23, 2012 at 11:00 AM. Graveside services with Military Honors will follow at Wilder Cemetery. While Mechelle nor I knew Eric personally, we are blessed enough to have "Gramma Kathy" there to take care of our two children. While we understand that the pain of loss is accute, we send you our prayers, Kathy, and hope that they assist you in this time of loss. To quote a famous Dr....... "Don't cry because it is over..... Eric was such a gentle and thoughtful person. Sometimes quite, but always involved. I really liked him as a person and as a friend. I'm sad that he is gone. My thoughts go out to his family and close friends.
