Erin H Dean

Erin Henrietta Barthes Dean passed away peacefully on August 6th, 2021. She will be missed and remembered by so many loved ones — her son, Preston “Mark” Dean, daughter Allison Erin Russell and son-in-law Gilbert Russell, nephew Francis “Mick” Barthes and nieces Diane PiSunyer and Lucia Wilson, three grandchildren, Timothy Dean, Elliott Russell and Erin Russell, as well as a great granddaughter! Erin was born on October 11,1923 in Biloxi, Mississippi. She was the youngest of two brothers, Francis Barthes Jr. and August Barthes. Twenty-three years later and after falling head over heels, she was married to the love of her life, Lt. Col Preston M Dean, on November 15, 1946 in Santiago, Chile. From there, they traveled the world and went on to live in Paris, France for several years as a family, before settling in Satellite Beach, Florida in 1966. Being an Officer's wife and supportive mother were the two major joys in her life. She loved cooking and entertaining. She made all who came into her home feel welcomed and cherished. In the later years of her life, Erin was a warmhearted, hand-ons grandmother. She enjoyed the many road trips, sporting events and holidays spent with her family. Her favorite treats were chocolate sodas and Diet Coke. Erin was an incredible wife, mother and grandmother -- always making sure everyone was taken care of. She will be placed to eternal rest alongside her beloved late husband after a small family service in Biloxi later this year.
