Ermagene Rose Bland 07/11/1932 - 08/13/2011 Erm was born to Biven and Tressie Herman on 07/11/1932 in Centralia, OK and spent her childhood in Cottonwood Falls, KS with her two sisters and one brother. She excelled in school and participated in the Kansas state spelling bee numerous times. She was a Kansas state baton twirling champion. Upon graduating high school, she moved to Colorado where she met and married Gerald Bland. They had four children. The family lived in Boulder for several years until Gerald became ill and then they moved to Thornton. Although faced with hardship, Erm strived to care of her family. She began working for Adams County Head Start as a teacher†™s aid and became a community coordinator. She worked for Adams County Head Start for about 35 years and always enjoyed the children and helping their families. She gave of herself unconditionally and opened her heart and doors to many. She was genuinely interested in other people and was supportive and nonjudgmental. She had a wonderful sense of humor and loved practical jokes and pranks. She was an avid reader and loved crossword puzzles. Her special joy was her grandchildren. She will be truly missed. She is survived by son Jay, wife Lilian, and children Kimberly, Jefferson and Jeremy, her daughter Pam and husband Rick, her son Michael, her son Tom and wife Annette, and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will held at Aspen Magnolia Memorial Chapel,6580 E. 73rd Ave., Commerce City, on Saturday, August 27th, at 10:00 a.m. with reception to follow.
