Bonaire, GA: Retired M/sgt USAF Ernest “”Cat”” Reynolds Childs, 80, passed away in at Heart of Georgia Hospice on January 20, 2011. Visitation will be held at Heritage Memorial Funeral Home on Sunday, January 23, 2011 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 24, 2011at 1:00 PM in Heritage Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Magnolia Park Cemetery with full Military Honors. Ernest was born in Bonaire, GA on October 22th, 1930 to the late John Steve and Lillian Jones Childs. Ernest was retired aircraft inspector and veteran of the United States Air Force and a retired civil service employee of Robins Air Force Base. He was pre-deceased by his step-mother Mrs.Frances King Childs and Brothers, Bobby Childs, Ray and Marvin Childs and sister in law Jimmie Nail Childs and brother in law Robert Durham. He is survived by his loving wife Mrs. Lessie Whiteford Childs of Bonaire, GA; Daughters; Faith Doug Norris of Laurens, SC; Susanne Danny Rippstien of Atmore, AL; Merry Jim Clark of Enoree, SC; Elizabeth Thomas of Warner Robins, GA; Elaine Adrian of Bonaire, Ga; Abigail Davis of Roberta, GA; Son, Claude Margaret Whiteford of Concord, NC, twenty-seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Bonaire United Methodist Church, 144 Elm Street, Bonaire, GA 31005. Heritage Memorial Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
