Ernest Daniel Dunn

Ernest Daniel (Danny) Dunn, age 68, of Kingsport, TN, went to be with the Lord on December 31, 2017. Danny had the ability to make anyone around him laugh, as he never met a stranger. He was loved by all who knew him and loved doing the New York Times crossword puzzle. He was an avid Tennessee Vols fan. He spent 9 years in the USAF. He was an IT Tech with E Systems in Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest R. Dunn and Donna M. Riley Dunn; son, John P. Dunn, Sr.; sisters, Debra K. Churchwell, Diana L. Dunn and Donnatella Marie Davis. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Hutson Dunn; daughters, Denis Dunn Mueller and Ann-Marie Dunn Miller; cherished step-mother, Mary Frances Dunn; brothers, Dennis M. Dunn and wife, Jean, Darrell J. Dunn, Michael L. Dunn and wife, Lorraine, and Randall L. Dunn and wife, Julia; sisters, Durella Dunn Ward and Damaar Dunn Hunley and husband, Donnie; 6 grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and a host of other family and friends. A special thank you to his helping sister-in-law and caregiver, Shirley Hutson; and a special thank you to his cousin, Mark Roberts for the special bond and friendship they shared. A special memorial gathering will be held from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home in downtown Kingsport. Funeral services will begin at 7:00 pm with Pastor Dennis Dunn and Rev. Tyler Dunn officiating. Family and friends may gather anytime at the home located at 2008 Ft. Robinson Dr. Kingsport, TN 37660.
