September 1st, 1941 - February 13th, 2015
Mr. Ernest Guyette, Jr., 73, of Amsterdam, passed away Friday morning February 13, 2015 at his home with his loving family at his side. He was born September 1, 1941 in Gloversville, NY the son of Ernest and Nettie Hazzard Guyette. He was a lifelong area resident and attended Gloversville Schools. Mr. Guyette was employed for many years at the former Coleco and Hasbro Co. in Amsterdam. He also worked at various leather mills in Gloversville. Ernie loved fishing, playing the lottery and he always enjoyed a good meal. He married Gail Leonard Guyette on September 9, 1977. In addition to his loving wife survivors include his children, Joseph Guyette, Neta' Guyette, Ernestine Carey, Robin Mclean, Victoria "Vicki" Jackson and Michael "Mike" Guyette. His dear sister, Shirley (Eric) Hill. Ernie is also survived by his lifelong friend and brother, Leslie "Sonny" Smith. Several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins survive. He was predeceased by his parents Ernest and Nettie Guyette Sr., a son, Ernest "Ernie" Guyette III and two sisters, Ernestine Hall and Dolores Kilgore. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 17, 2015 at 1:00P.M. at the Betz, Rossi and Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam with Rev. Cynthia Leonard presiding. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery, Amsterdam. The family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday prior to the funeral service from 12:00 Noon to 1:00P.M. at the funeral home.
