Ernest "Ernie" Nelson Perry

Ernest N. “Ernie” Perry On June 14, 2016, Ernie age 86, died at home with family, in Mitchellville, MD; Dear husband for 61 years of Rhoda “Ronni” Heard Perry; father of Colin C. Perry (California); Alison A. Perry, Sean R. Perry and daughter-in-law of Lisa Ivanhoe Perry (Maryland); preceded in death by son, Noel Stephen Perry (San Francisco, CA); grandfather of Philip Ernest Perry (California). Ernie was born and raised in Fresno, CA, and considered the SF Bay Area his home at heart. He received his B.A. Degree in Industrial Arts/Engineering from University of California, Fresno. He worked for Bechtel Corp as an Engineer for approx. 32 years. Almost until the end of his life, Ernie volunteered time assisting seniors with their taxes at the Laurel Senior Center. Ernie had many passions, primarily sailing in the San Francisco Bay Area, motorcycling and flying, having owned various single engine aircraft. Ernie was licensed with the U.S. Coast Guard to Navigate passenger carrying vessels. He was Commodore of the Sausalito Yacht Club in 1971 and an original member until his death. His family plans to scatter his remains in the Pacific outside the Golden Gate Bridge.
