Esperanza Jacobson Melbourne Esperanza Jacobson, age 58, passed peacefully from this life to her eternal life with our Lord, at home surrounded by her loving family. Survived by her husband of 32 years, William "Bill" Jacobson, aka "Muñeco" to her; daughter, Jenniffer Hubbard, aka "Muñeca" to her; son-in-law, Daniel Hubbard, aka "Daniel"; step-son Phillip Jacobson, aka "Feelip"; father, Mario Rivera Sanchez; mother, Mary Rivera Moncada; Sisters, Vilma, Martha and Consuelo Rivera Moncada; brother Herman Rivera; and a beautiful and supportive extended family. Born in Bogotá, Colombia, she met and married Bill before moving to the United States. She also had the opportunity to live in Ecuador, South America; and Québec, Canada before settling down in Melbourne, Florida. She enjoyed reading, traveling, music, dancing, learning about different cultures, beliefs and philosophies, and spending time with her friends and family. She had the opportunity to travel to Chile, and many beautiful places throughout Ecuador, Canada, the United States, and her native country, Colombia. Esperanza had dreamed of becoming a psychologist, but instead chose to fulfill her life in many another ways, but we believe that in her own special way, she did realize this career dream throughout her life. There is not one person who met her who did not feel as if she had somehow helped them become a more peaceful and better person. Her wise, humble and guiding ways will be missed, but gave all those who knew her, memories of the words and guidance she shared, to live by and up to. A celebration of life, to honor and remember Esperanza, is being planned and will be held within the next couple of weeks. The details will be shared on this site, by e-mail, and other social connections as soon as they become available. In lieu of flowers, we know that she would have preferred that her loved ones donate a kind word or action, to honor the person that she was, and the part of her that will live on in the lives of all who were touched by her life on Earth, and who will live on forever in spirit.
