Esther M. Lopez, 88, longtime resident of Salinas, passed away on March 4, 2012 at home. She was born on April 7, 1923 in San Antonio, Texas. Esther was a former Volunteer at the Fire House Senior Center in Salinas, and was a member of St. Mary of the Nativity Church. She is survived by her daughters, Connie Sapien of Salinas, Mona (Robert) Reyna of Salinas and Virginia Arias of Glendale, CA. son, Ismael (Sylvia) Vasquez of Salinas numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, 2 brothers and 3 sisters also survive. She is preceded in death by her husband, Juan S. Lopez. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 8, 2012 from 1-9pm with a Rosary Recital at 7pm at Healey Mortuary 405 N. Sanborn Rd. Salinas, CA 93905. Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, March 9, 2012 at 1pm at St. Mary of the Nativity Catholic Church 424 Towt St. Salinas, CA 93905. Burial to follow services at the Garden of Memories Cemetery 850 Abbott St. Salinas, Ca 93901.

He and his wife founded Salinas Valley Mortuary in 1956 to help serve the families in the Salinas Valley area. Their lifelong mission was to unselfishly serve area families based on their strong, trusting relationship with their community – something we honor to this day almost seven decades years later....
