She grew up there where she met and married the love of her life Albert Rupp on October 21, 1934. They had 3 children- Merlin, Marlene and Joe. In 1944 they moved to a farm on Oregon slope which became their lifelong home of 72 years. There she worked side by side with her husband during harvest, irrigating, and working cattle. She also took a job at Ore-Ida for 20 plus years. She faithfully raised her children and managed all the household duties of being a wife and mother. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church where she served as a Sunday school teacher for many years. Esther was a woman of great faith. She had such a powerful testimony of her Lord. Through trials and hardships of all kinds, she walked with Jesus and testified daily to His goodness and grace in her life. She spent hours and hours praying for her family and all who crossed her path, sometimes throughout the night. Esther enjoyed camping with her family at the Imnaha River and Pine Creek. She was known to enjoy many outdoor activities like tubing the river with her grandkids or packing in to a favorite camp spot on horseback. In her later years, she acquired a video camera and loved taping brandings and family events. Among Esther's many gifts was her ability to write poetry and some of her writings were published. She was also a self taught pianist and loved to play as an encouragement to herself and others. She could turn anyone's cloudy day around with her fantastic wit and humor. She was an encouraging friend, wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. No sacrifice was too great when it came to her family. She was generous and kind and Esther will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her husband Al, her daughter Marlene, her son Joe, and grandson Duke. She is survived by her son Merlin and wife Faithe, son in law Wallace, grandkids-Tim, Twyla, Myla, Bill, Colleen, Dana, Robin, and Ronda, her sister Betty, and numerous great-grandkids, nieces and nephews.
