Ethel Evelyn Timan
July 23rd, 1932 - November 26th, 2019
Tribute Ethel Evelyn (Greaves) Timan was born in 1932 in The Bronx, New York. Born to parents Richard and Alma Greaves, she was the oldest of five children. Her siblings were Harry, John, Larry and Elvira (Tootsie). As a young woman, Evelyn served a short stint in the U.S. Marine Corp. She was very proud of her military service and continued to talk about it throughout her life. In 1950, she met William (Bill) Timan. They married five years later and had three childen – Rochelle (Timan) Adler (Rick), Thomas Timan and William (Billy) Timan Jr. (Dava). In 1971, they moved from Pennsylvania to Colorado. Bill and Evelyn were married for 64 years. They had two grandchildren – Tracon Adler (Rebecca) and Erin (Adler) Johnson (Ben), and two great-grandchildren – Taylon and Katy Adler. Evelyn loved spending time with her family, and it was important to her that they were together for birthdays, vacations and holidays. Her family lovingly referred to her as “Grubbs” or “Grubbies.” Grubbies enjoyed crafting, canning fruits and vegetables that her and Bill grew on their farm, reading, taking trips to Las Vegas, going to Blackhawk, shopping with her daughter, watching scary movies with her granddaughter and watching her grandchildren and great grandchildren play sports. She enjoyed attending church and was a member of the St. Stephens Episcopal Church Guild. Her favorite pastimes were taking care of her grandchildren and making meals for her family. In addition to being a homemaker, Evelyn worked as a bookkeeper, waitress and in retail. She loved to socialize, and made friends wherever she went. She always made people laugh with her spunky and feisty attitude. Services will be held on December 12, 2019 at 9:30am at Carroll-Lewellen Funeral Home.
