Eugene C. Gatewood

Gatewood, Eugene C. ?Gene?, 75, of St. Petersburg, died Thursday June 28, 2001 at home under Hospice care of lung cancer. Born in St. Petersburg, he left here in 1949 and was a district manager at a lighting company in Atlanta, Georgia, for 37 years. In 1985 he returned to St. Petersburg. He was a Navy Veteran of WWII, a 1944 graduate of St. Petersburg High School, graduated from the University of Florida and was a member of the Racquet Club. Survivors include his wife of 19 years, Marilyn O. Gatewood, 2 daughters, Joy Warlick of Lenoir, North Carolina and Carol Seamons of Memphis, Tennessee, 2 sons, Clay Gatewood of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Tom Gatewood of Durham, North Carolina, 2 stepchildren, Lisa Campbell of Peach Tree City, Georgia and Joseph Orr of Youngsville, Louisiana, his mother, Thelma Gatewood of St. Petersburg, a sister, Mildred Hommer of St. Petersburg, a brother, Neil Gatewood of Roswell, Georgia and 11 grandchildren.
