Eugene B Gonzales

Eugene "Gene" B. Gonzales, 70 of Albuquerque, NM, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at Lovelace Hospital, where he was surrounded by his family. He was born on May 31, 1947, in Albuquerque to Gene and Ferminia "Minnie", the second of three children. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Christine Gonzales of Albuquerque, NM, their children Geoffrey (Hope) Gonzales of Denver, CO and Amy Gonzales (Rodney Montgomery) of Albuquerque, NM; grandchildren Jasmine, Adrien, and Venessa of Denver, CO, Anna and Amaya of Albuquerque, NM; sister Anita Gonzales and her children Kimberly Mishos and Jedediah Glaser of Albuquerque, NM; Sisters-in-Law Madeleine Hiester (David) of Rockwall, TX and Pamela Rothlein (Andrew) of Chappaqua, NY. He is pre deceased by his brother, Richard Gonzales. Eugene was a proud veteran of the USAF and served in the Vietnam War as a Medic. He and Christine met while they were assigned to Torrejon AF Base, and married on December 5, 1970 in Madrid, Spain. After their service in the military, they settled down in Albuquerque to raise Geoffrey and Amy. Gene's passion for the NY Yankees and the Green Bay Packers was a well-known phenomenon to his family and friends.
