Eugene "Gene" H.K. Klug
January 4th, 1932 - January 15th, 2014
EUGENE "GENE" KLUG age 82 of Jefferson, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday January 15, 2014 at his home. He was born on January 4, 1932 in Milton, son of the late Leo and Iva (Trewyn) Klug. He graduated from Fort Atkinson high school, and before the draft he was a self-employed carpenter and built several homes in the Fort Atkinson area. He served in the United States Army from 1952-1954 during the Korean War when he served as company clerk, officer club manager, company teletype, and company photographer, He married Victoria Manley on January 28, 1956 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Fort Atkinson. Gene owned and operated Authentic Antiques Auction and Estate Services in Palmyra, and eventually being known for Wisconsin's largest antique auction for many years before retiring in 1994. During those years he pioneered in the antiques field in Wisconsin promoting several antique shows including the first ones in Grays Lake, IL, and Fond Du Lac, WI Fair Park plus auctions all over SE Wisconsin. Gene was passionate about antiques and collectables, creating many family memories and passing his love of antiques on to several of his siblings & children not to mention the many friends he introduced to the business. He enjoyed traveling, spending time with family and friends, and being the center of attention with his charismatic charm. There was nothing that pleasured him more than lending a helping hand; he was always first in line to help. He will be deeply missed by his family; Wife Victoria of Jefferson, Daughter; Pamela (Dale) Ridgley of AR Sons; Gregory (Gabriela Marquisio) Klug of Cambridge, Audie (Jennifer) Klug of Palmyra, Jason Klug of Jefferson. 13 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren. Brothers; Albert Klug of FL, Lawrence (Charlotte) Klug of Fort Atkinson Many nieces, nephews and other relatives and many friends. He is preceded in death by brothers; Waylen, Arlo, and his sisters; Florence Traxler, Aleta Cox, Elva Traxler. A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date via www.WisAuction.com.
