Witzleben, Eugene, Jr. ?Gene,? 93, of St. Petersburg, and formerly of Tampa, died Friday January 2, 2004 at Bayfront Medical Center, St. Petersburg. Born in Chicago, IL, he moved to Tampa in 1965 and later to St. Petersburg in 1999. He was a retired Chief Warrant Officer in the U. S. Army having served in WWII Pacific Theatre and the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Tallahassee Retired Officer?s Association and the Elks Lodge #937 in Tallahassee. He was pre-deceased by his wife, Anna Mary Witzleben, and, by his daughter, Suzy Witzleben of Gainesville, FL. Survivors include two sons: Andy, St. Petersburg; and Eric, New Orleans, LA; three daughters: Kathryn Funke, Gainesville, FL; Amy Rizzo, Dover, DE; and Heidi Myrick, Montgomery, AL; and twelve grandchildren. Anderson-McQueen Funeral Homes & Cremation Tribute Center-Ninth Street Chapel.
